You know what running shape is. You’ve seen them speeding along the footpaths – those lithe people, slight, sleek, long-limbed, agile – an almost bird-like frame combining lightweight strength with speed and agility. That’s running shape.

I am not running shape. I’m shortish, squattish, solid and stocky – hobbit shape, to be honest. It’s not the ideal shape for running. But I love to run, so why let a little thing like what shape I am get in the way? I’ll never be particularly fast, but I'll settle for fit, relaxed, and happy.
